10 Reasons Why You Should Exercise
Hi Lovelies! I don’t know about you but since this whole quarantine happened, I’ve been finding some great ways to exercise throughout my day. Especially since my gym has been closed and honestly, don’t think I’ll be going back to the gym for a while even when it re-opens…
Like, I’ll give it a couple months or so, so that the second wave of COVID runs its course, lol. (but not kidding?).
ANYWAY, I know some people think you don’t need to exercise, but PEOPLE, we need to! Also, it’s summer now and it’s a great time to be outdoors!

The Mayo Clinic suggests we exercise for only as little at 30 minutes a day.
You guys. That’s like, nothing. Just go for a walk around your neighborhood and you’ll be good to go.
I’m sure you all know that “exercise is good for you” but do you really know why?
Well, I’ve got 10 reasons why that is 100% TRUE! Here are just SOME of the benefits of exercising.
There’s a bunch more ~ medical ~ reasons but let’s stick to the fun ones. 🙂
1. Let’s Make That Heart STRONG <3
Exercise helps make your heart strong!
It can reduce blood pressure which helps decrease your chances of getting heart disease.
*When you exercise, your blood pressure decreases – For all you non-medical people, that’s a good thing. 🙂
2. Energy Spikes – WOOT, WOOT!
Yup. If you’re feeling blue or a bit sluggish, try going out for a light jog or walk for 30 minutes.
I promise you it’ll help with fatigue, stress and exhaustion.
It’s scientifically proven – Just ask the good ole WebMD.
3. Reduces Fat & Speeds Up Metabolism
We all know it.
We all hate to hear it.
The more you exercise, the more your body is able to fight off those calories which helps speed up your metabolism.
HECK YEAH! Let’s get #skinny ladies and gents! Lol JK.. unless??

Okay, so, exercising makes your skin literally look better. Yeah, ikr. It’s for real.
Something about how when you exercise it increases blood flow which helps oxygen and nutrients spread better throughout your body.
Everyday Health quoted a medical professional and they say, “It’s like cleansing the skin from the inside”.
IDK the specifics, but if it works, I’m doing it.

6. You Can Finally Catch Those ZZZ’s

When you exercise during the day, it can help you get better sleep at night and even helps reduce the time it takes to finally get to sleep.
But they say not to exercise too close to bedtime since exercising spikes your energy levels.
But on the other hand, if you are tryna stay up late then go for it dude.
7. Mood Boosts
Feeling cranky or just not having a good day? Try getting some exercise in your daily routine.
Studies have shown that exercising can help lift your mood.
Also, when you exercise, your body naturally kicks up your endorphins which are pretty much, what I like to call, “Happy Vibes”, and makes you feel goooood.
A study found that this can happen after only 10 minutes of exercising!

8. Lowers Anxiety & Stress
Okay, so listen, stress can be a big part of life – obviously, but did you know you can help manage stress and anxiety by simply adding a short brisk walk into your daily routine?
Adding that short, brisk walk (emphasis on the brisk) every day can help lower anxiety and stress related thoughts.
This happens because when you exercise, you increase your “Happy Vibes” (remember? aka, endorphins).
When you exercise, you are more focused on what you are currently doing rather than your daily life problems.
So, when you are stressed out or feeling anxious, take a break. Relax. Go on a walk or go to the gym and get a good workout in.
You will feel better and have a clearer mind after.

9. It’s Actually Fun

Personally, I enjoy working out. I know, weird, right?
Just kidding. It’s not weird at all!
Because exercising not only makes me feel better but it’s also a great time to just get out of the house and be on your own to clear your mind.

By keeping your muscles engaged throughout your day, you are helping your body produce more hormones.
According to the Mayo Clinic, not only does exercise help with hormone production, it also makes you feel better and helps “increase your confidence about your physical appearance”.
And I know what you’re thinking, “Duh, it helps that.” No, like have you ever finished a workout and then just felt better about yourself??
That’s what I’m talking about. You just ~feel~ better!

So, get up, get outdoors, go to the gym or create a fun little gym at home and search some fun workout programs.
